It's all about the stickiness
Why does an adhesive tape stick and still unroll? The secret is pressure-sensitive adhesives: they have a permanent stickiness and can adhere to various materials.
However, pressure-sensitive adhesives only retain their long-term adhesion at room temperature. They are less fond of cold and heat, become brittle or even tear. It is best to store adhesive tapes at room temperature, away from light and dry. Adhesive tapes have different carrier surfaces, such as paper, foil or fabric, which are coated with pressure-sensitive adhesives.

Adhesive tape 1x1
Of course, you need different tape for large, heavy packages than for small, light ones. But which one exactly? With this overview you will find the ideal adhesive tape for your needs.
PP Adhesive Tape
Polypropylene tape is tear-resistant, it is well suited for sealing light and medium-weight packages. As a low noise version, it is also wonderfully quiet when rolling. PP adhesive tape has a high level of immediate adhesion, but does not have good long-term stickiness, i.e. it peels off after some time.
PVC Adhesive Tape
Polyvinyl chloride tape is very resistant and tear-resistant. Ideal for heavy boxes and for storing sealed packages. The adhesive strength develops after 1 to 2 days and lasts for years, thanks to the natural rubber glue.
Paper Tape
Paper tape is tear-resistant and can be unrolled quietly. With its carrier, recyclable kraft paper, it is also environmentally friendly. This tape is suitable for light to medium weight packages.
Filament Tape
This adhesive tape is glass fibre reinforced and therefore very tear-resistant. It has a high level of immediacy and durability and must be used when shipping dangerous goods.
Crepe Tape
You've probably used this tape for masking while painting. It is easy to unroll, can be labeled, torn off by hand and removed without leaving any residue.
Wet Adhesive Tape
You can only use this tape together with an appropriate device: it is moistened by the machine and then applied. The adhesive tape is recyclable, insensitive and adheres even on dusty surfaces.
Fabric Tape
If you need a particularly heavy-duty adhesive tape, choose a tape reinforced with textile fabric or tear-resistant plastics. You can also use fabric tape for sealing or insulation.
