This Is a Good Boxtar

Get a good box — flatter boxes will be more functional, a long cardboard tube from a kitchen roll, some long rubber bands, several flat headed pins, a box cutter, a glue-gun or just duck tape. Additional small piece of thick cardboard, a tongue depressor or a pencil will come in handy for making the bridge.

Outline the diameter of the tube on the side of the box and cut it out whith a box cutter. The neck in this design is only decorative, we will not be mounting the strings on it. It’s best to place it in the center of the side of the box.

Raising the strings above the surface of the box will improve their sound, so make a little bridge. In keeping with the cardboard theme of This Is a Good Box we recommend a piece of thick cardboard, but a tongue depressor, popsicle stick, or even a short wooden pencil will do just as well. Fasten it half way between the sound hole and the edge opposite from the neck. Fasten with pins or hot glue.

Functionally your guitar is done, you can now decorate it as you like!
